Hello, my name is Sophie Xie. 

I am a local watercolor artist from Bothell. My artwork is known for its otherworldly whimsy and powerful use of color. 

 As a child, I had a wild imagination and loved to draw. No blank surface was safe from my doodles, which sometimes got me into trouble. However, as I grew up, I set aside my creativity to focus on building a family, raising children, and working a day job. After many years of prioritizing practicality, a painful divorce helped me reconnect with my art. 

 I started painting in 2024. When I began painting, I found myself reminiscing about my bookworm days and all the novels I devoured as a teenager. I reconnected with my inner geek and realized how much I have longed to attend Renaissance fairs and comic cons, where I could be surrounded by people who share my interests. Art has given me courage and helped make my dreams a reality. 

 Now, I live in Washington State with my children. I paint whenever I can, creating artwork that excites me. I invite you to join me on this journey and explore the beauty in my imaginative landscapes.
